Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Ricks Moorman, 59, of Wrightsville, will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11 AM at the Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 308 Rowe Street, Dublin. Reverend Benny Brantley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery, Dublin.

Mrs. Moorman was born on December 14, 1955, to Mr. Tommie Lee Ricks, Sr, and the late Mrs. Essie Mae Ricks in Dublin.

She attended and graduated from the Laurens County School System. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the Mount Sinai Healing Temple Church in East Dublin. She later joined the New Bible Believer Missionary Baptist Church in Dublin. She served as a lead singer and faithful servant at both churches.

She met and married Tommy Dwaine Moorman and relocated to Wrightsville. They were blessed with one beautiful daughter, Shadreka Moorman. Mrs. Moorman was a devoted wife and mother.

Her career included many years of employment at Fortsmann Incorporated, a Sales Clerk at Convenient Stores, Rockwell Automation, Home Healthcare, and a certified nursing assistant at Benton House of Dublin.

She was a gifted singer and an embellisher of beautiful arrangements and designing. She was a role model and mentor for many people. Her willing spirit accompanied by her sweet, cheerful smile was her daily etiquette.

Mrs. Moorman was preceded in death by her son, Marvio King; and brother, Tommy Ricks, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband, Tommy Dwaine Moorman of Wrightsville; daughter, Shadreka Moorman of Augusta; father, Tommie Lee (Mrs. Selma) Ricks, Sr. of Dudley; eight grandchildren, Dameria King and India King of Dublin, Ishyana Midgette, Treyvion King, Tiondra King, Zeyvion King, Curtis Earle, and Chantz Earle of August; four sisters, Jeraldine Ricks and Patricia Ricks of Jacksonville, Florida, Mattie Ricks of Lawrenceville, and Tammy (Bill) Streetman of Augusta; three brothers, Timothy (Dorethea) Ricks of Schertz, Texas, Johnny L. (Shirl) Ricks of Perry and Gregory L. (Becky) Ricks of Greenville, South Carolina; two aunts, Fleata Mae George of Dublin and Arlean Ricks of Jacksonville, Florida; a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at 181 James Grove Church Road, Wrightsville from 5 to 8 PM daily.
