Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice W. Davis formerly of Wrightsville will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Buckeye Baptist Church at 2176 New Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Reverend David G. Flowers will officiate.




She was born to the parentage of the late Charlie Bell Williams and Charles Lewis Hurst and was a widow of the late James Chester Davis. Mrs. Davis was was born on December 6, 1938, and passed away on August 8, 2013. She was a devoted member of the Buckeye Baptist Church and a very well known and loved community member.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her son, Willie James Davis; a great granddaughter, A'Trevia Davis and four brothers-in-law, Moses Coley, James Lee Davis, Julius Davis and Rudy Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by three daughters, Mary A. Williams of East Dublin, Connie Davis of Dublin, Glenda Davis of South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Coley of Dublin and Bruce (Jamie) Coley of Rochester, NY; four sisters-in-law, Viola Davis Solomon of East Dublin, Martha (Wanzy) Axson of East Dublin, Erma Coley of Dublin and Lois (Eric) Stanley Dublin; six grandchildren, Antonio O'Neal, Tawaya Davis, Latoya (Javar) Lanier, Tamara Williams all of Dublin as well as Rafael O'Neal of Alabama and Lakeisha Smith of New York, sixteen step children and a host of great grandchildren; god son, Coselle Payne; two dedicated friends, Faye Windham and Alicia Jones both of Dublin and two special aunts, Gladys Blackshear and Cora Mae Wright and a host of other relatives and friends.




The family will receive friends at 536 Jimmy's Drive East Dublin.
