Funeral services for Mr. Benjamin Ray Carrow, Sr., of Dublin will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 2 PM at the Saint Paul AME Church, 308 Rowe Street. Pastor Linda Gattis will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Laurens Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, 1-2 PM.

Mr. Benjamin Ray Carrow, Sr., was born on July 26, 1936, in Grifton, North Carolina. His christian walk began in 1951 when he became a member of the Zion AME Church. After graduating high school, he relocated to New York. He was employed with the Ford Motor Company in 1956, and a year later, volunteered to serve his country in the United States Army. After two years in service, he returned to New York and resumed his employment with the Ford Motor Company, as well as pursuing certification in accounting from the Monroe Business Institute. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after thirty-five years and nineteen months.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Carrow, and Sarah Strong Carrow, siblings, James Harvey Carrow, Eli Carrow, Elton Carrow, Mac Donald Carrow, Daniel Carrow, Jr., Samuel Carrow, and a sister, Winnie Ruth Carrow Pratt. Benjamin Ray Carrow, Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 29, 2018, and was able to hear those words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant." Mr. Carrow made New Jersey his home in 1989, and began fellowship with Bethel AME Church in 2001, where he served in the following ministries, usher, Male Chorus Trustee, Steward, and Financial Commission. In 2012, he moved to Dublin, Georgia, and became affiliated with the Saint Paul AME Church under the leadership of Reverend Leon Smith. His favorite song was "Precious Memories"and his favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 41:10. Mr. Carrow passed away on April 29, 2018.

In addition to his wife, Mattie Jean Branham Carrow, he has two loving children from a previous marriage, Bernadette Carrow, and Benjamin "Bennie" Carrow, Jr., of New Jersey, five grandchildren, Tyleshia, Brielle, Janee, Brieyanna, and Nia, one loving grandson, Tyshon, and a host of several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to the Saint Paul AME Church, 308 Rowe Street, Dublin.
