Funeral services for Mrs. Beauty Thompkins of New York, New York, will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 1:00 PM in the C.D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin. Reverend J.R. Travick will officiate. Mrs. Thompkins, who passed on December 24, 2012, was born January 6, 1918, to the late Cleveland Dudley and Mary Guyton in Dublin. Upon the death of her mother, she and her three brothers were reared by her step-mother, the late Mamie Dudley. Her husband, Joseph Thompkins, son, Ulysses Dudley, daughter, Alice D. Wells, and brothers, Leo, Ennis, and Cleveland, all preceded her in death. She attended the Dublin City Schools and the Second Baptist Church in Dublin. On August 25, 1946, she was united in holy matrimony to Joseph Thompkins for 44 years until his death. The couple relocated to New York City where Mrs. Thompkins resided for over 50 years. She attended Eastward Missionary Baptist Church where she was a deaconess. She was a long time employee of 32 years at B.J. Pension Group until her retirement. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted great grandson and caregiver, Anthony Williams of New York, New York; grandson, Darryl Williams of Charleston, Virginia; granddaughters: Mae (Richard) Carlisle of Auburn, Alabama, Robin Williams and Regina Dudley of Dublin, and Shelia Dixon (Lee Otis); sister-in-law, Essie Dudley of Dublin; great grandchildren: Richard Jr. (Brittni), Darryl., Jr., Christopher, Gary Jr., Brandon (Paris), Rokesiah, MiShawna, Ebony, Safia, Najee, Terrell, and Dominique; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
