Funeral services for Ms. Beatrice “Dossie” Reese Hightower, 93, of Wrightsville, will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 12 PM at the Saint Galilee Baptist Church, 1053 Idylwild Drive, Wrightsville. Reverend Anthony L. Maxwell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hightower Family Cemetery, Wrightsville.

Ms. Hightower was born to the late Charlie Reese and Sallie Weaver Reese on March 15, 1922. During her 93 years she loved much, worked much, served much, and touched thousands of lives. She joined Saint Galilee Baptist Church at an early age. In her love for this church and God, she wore many hats and filled multiple roles for almost 90 years, including youth director, missionary, and church mother. She also worked as a home nutrition specialist and van driver for the senior citizen center.

She married and cherished the late Rev. O. D. Hightower and they worked tirelessly on the farm.

God saw that her road had gotten rough and her hills hard to climb. On Friday, May 22, 2015, God gently closed her loving eyes and transitioned her to her new home, not made by man's hands.

She will always be loved, honored, and remembered by her three children, Odell B. Hightower of Wrightsville, Margaret B. Hightower (Gilbert Banks) of Waynesboro, and Billy R. Hightower (Illillian) of Lithia Springs; four grandchildren, Stacy Hightower Harrison (Floyd) and Odell Bashaun Hightower all of Cypress, Texas, Mara Banks of Waynesboro, and Alexander R. Hightower of Douglasville; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Caleb, Jordan and Asa Harrison all of Cypress, Texas; one sister, Maggie Linder of Wrightsville; one sister-in-law, Christine Hightower of Sandersville; a congregation of adoring nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 726 Hightower Road, Wrightsville and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27, 6-7 pm.
