Beatrice Ellis

Beatrice Toland Ellis, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior December 14, 2013. She was born December 1, 1926 in Winslow, Arkansas to Allie Hensley Toland and Joe Sephus Toland and married Robert C. Ellis, Sr. March 10, 1946 in Venice, California.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. December 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Eden followed by burial in Eden Cemetery. Officiating is Pastor Chris Curtis. Pallbearers are Scott Sorrell, Garrett Ellis, Mike Ellis, Jerry McDonald, Zane Blackwell and Michael Lockett.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years in May 2003, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Beatrice is survived by her three sons, Robert C. Ellis, Jr. and wife Cathy of Eden, David Ellis and wife Becky of Eden, and William Andrew Ellis and wife Patricia of Brazelton, GA; 12 grandchildren, Michael Flynn Ellis and wife Robin, Kristi Ellis Ogle and husband Stacy, Garrett Ellis and wife Ali, Macey Ellis, Erin Ellis and Fiancé Bill Harper, Johnathon Ellis, James Ellis, Laranda Ellis, John Ellis, Keylee Ellis, Samantha Ellis, and Harley Ellis; and 5 great grandchildren, Kaleigh Morgan Ellis, Delaney Ellis, Kiersten Ogle, Kannon Ogle and Rylynn Ellis.

Beatrice became a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1967 and obtained her RN degree at Angelo State University in 1976. She worked most of her years as a nurse at Concho County Nursing Home and Hospital and retired in 1996 to take care of her husband at home until his death in May 2003.

Beatrice loved taking care of her children, cooking, gardening, writing poetry, sewing, teaching, acting, loved inspirational music, jokes, visiting and singing, but reading was her preferred pastime. Her bible was her most loved and often read book. She belonged to the Eden First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School from Kindergarten to adults, sang in the choir and participated actively in every worship service unless providentially hindered. She loved the church and her church family.

Beatrice was chosen as an "extra" for the movie Since You Went Away in 1944 as Senior Drama student from Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, CA. She was also Queen For A Day on Jack Bailey's radio and TV show in Hollywood, CA December 17, 1947.
