YORK- Anita “Annie” Dale Meeks Saunders, 75, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2015 at Piedmont Medical Center. She was the wife of William F. Saunders, Sr. They shared 52 years of marriage together.
Born in North Carolina, Annie was the daughter of the late Georgia May Meeks. She graduated from Gaston Beauty College, and was a retired beautician. Annie enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, gardening, giving to others, and her family. She will be remembered for her big heart and her fun loving and larger than life personality.
She is survived by her husband, William F. Saunders, Sr., daughter, Tessie Ann and Scott Blackwell, son Rowdy and Michelle Saunders, grandchildren, Huey Saunders, Amanda Pope, Shaina Ramsey, Matthew McDaniel, great grandchildren, Samantha Saunders, Patricia Saunders, Phoebe Pope, and Matthew Pope. Annie was also survived by brothers, Roger Meeks, Billy Meeks, Skipper Meeks, Joe Meeks, and sister Carolyn Meeks. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Meeks.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6 – 8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York.
