Funeral services for Ms. Annie Ruth Blackshear Peoples, of Dublin, will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at God’s Divine Vision Ministry, 600 Telfair Street in Dublin. Pastor Ricky B. Stanley will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Annie Blackshear Peoples was born in October 28, 1939, to the late Frank Blackshear and Zora Blackshear in Soperton, Georgia. Ms. Peoples was educated in the Treutlen County School System. She later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was employed by Howard Johnson Hotels for many years until her retirement.
After returning home to Georgia, Ms. Peoples joined Mitchell Grove Baptist Church in Johnson County serving as an usher. Later she moved her membership to God’s Divine Vision Ministry where she attended until her health failed. She departed this life on January 5, 2020.
Ms. Peoples leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Ms. Margaret L. Blackshear of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a son, James Blackshear of Soperton, Georgia, a devoted honorary sister, Mrs. Barbara Ann Knight of Dublin, a granddaughter, Tracy (Gregory) Manassa of Augusta, Georgia, grandson, Varick Blackshear of Soperton, Georgia, sister-in-law, Queen Blackshear of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, four great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
