Ann Davis
Ann B. Davis, famous for playing ‘Alice’ on the Brady Bunch has passed away. Suffering from a fall, she was hospitalized and never regained consciousness. She was 88 years old.
Ann got her start in show business by being on “The Bob Cummings Show” in the 1950’s. Later in 1969-1974, she became everybody’s favorite housekeeper Alice on “The Brady Bunch”.
Growing up in the seventies, The Brady Bunch was a favorite for many people! Thousands of fans would gather around the television set once a week to hear the story of a man named Brady, along with Carol and 6 children! Right in the middle square of the opening jingle was of course, the housekeeper Alice. (Who just happened to be the best housekeeper ever!) Alice was usually found wearing her uniform consisting of a blue dress with a white apron. She usually had a white dusting cloth hanging out of her right pocket. She was always cleaning or cooking or helping with one of the 6 kids. Sometimes she would be seen with her best beau, Sam the butcher. She was always upbeat and lively and had great one liners on the show. Alice was more than just the housekeeper; she was part of the Brady Bunch family! She was funny, witty and sometimes a little bit quirky, everybody loved her.
Ann was an amazing talented actress that made all of us happier with her infectious smile and entertaining antics. She was part of the baby boomers childhood in the seventy’s and they grew up watching and laughing with her! Thanks for the memories Ann, you will be missed.
