Cremation service for Alvin Williams 48, of Midland will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Alvin passed Monday February 6, 2012 at a local hospital after a long battle with HIV. Though he was sick he never let it slow him down. Alvin Williams was born May 8, 1963 to Melvin Lee Williams and Sherry Ann Williams in Lamesa, Texas. He was the 2nd born of 3 children. He was a graduate of Lee High School Midland, TX and was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he received an Honorable Discharge. Survivors include his life partner Christian Hodges; his mother, Sherry Ann Williams; ; one daughter, Kimberly; 1 son, Deserey 2 grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria, and Sandra; and a host of relatives and friends. Internment will be under the direction of Jackie Warren Funeral Home.
