SMYRNA – Albert Burtis Pearce, 95, of Smyrna passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Carolina Gardens in York.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Divine Saviour Catholic Church in York. A rosary service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at Divine Saviour Catholic Church. The burial will take place at a later date at New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Boarden Town, NJ.
Bert was a son of the late Lester Pearce and Gladys Pierce Pearce. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII, and later retired as a BMCS with the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of Divine Saviour Catholic Church in York. Bert was preceded in death by his first wife Joan Colette Pearce.
He is survived by his wife Joan Mueller Pearce of Smyrna, children, Eileen Hoefling of New Jersey, Chris Pearce of Nevada, Father Joe Pearce of Rock Hill, SC, Marian Shelnutt of Wisconsin, and George Pearce of Florida, step daughter, Sandra Joan Mueller of Florida, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Bert was preceded in death by step son David Peter Mueller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rock Hill Oratory, 434 Charlotte Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29730, or to Agape Hospice, 12 N Congress St, York, SC 29745.
