Funeral services for Deacon Roosevelt King, Sr., of Dublin, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Rice Hill Baptist Church, 2706 Moore Station Road in Dublin. Reverend Abraham Crockett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Deacon King, who passed on August 3, 2016, was born October 31, 1930, to the late Annie Baker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola King and a son, Roosevelt King, Jr.

He was educated in the Laurens County Public Schools. Mr. King attended Rice Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was an upright man and a pillar of the community.

Deacon King is survived by a son, Willie C. (Marilyn) King, Sr.; grandchildren and caregiver, Priscilla Patterson, Octavia (Terrance) Smith, Keith (Laverne) Shepard, Jason (Yolonda) Williams, Willie (Alecia) King, Jr., Komomek Young, Jerry Rolax, Joseph King, Amanda (Kelley) Mathews and a host great grandchildren; two special sisters-in-law, Martha Nell Darrisaw and Mamie Lou Adams; brother-in-law, James (Priscilla) Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 708 South Jefferson Street in Dublin.
