Shirley F. Cole was born on September 19, 1946 in Red River County, Texas to Earnest Titus and Virginia Williams – Dillahunty. She was the oldest of eight children and graduated from Cheatham High School in 1965. Shirley grew up in Clarksville, Texas and was a member of the St. James Baptist Church.

On March 6th, 1971, Shirley united with Lee Cole in holy matrimony. To this union, they had two children, Timothy and Tabatha. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother (known adoringly as Granny).

In the early 80’s, Lee accepted the calling to become a minister for the Lord. Shirley united with Martin Shiloh Baptist Church in Avery, Texas with her husband and served diligently as First Lady until she transitioned to her heavenly home.
