Funeral services for Mr. Curtis James "CJ" Knight, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 1 PM at the Everlasting Non-Denominational Church, 1300 South Jefferson Street, in Dublin. Apostle H. J. Sinclair will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Knight, also known as "CJ" and "Jake " who passed away on September 27, 2016, was born on July 21, 1942 to the late Bennett James Knight and Ida Mae Patterson in Laurens County. Mr. Knight attended Flemming School and worked for several years for W .H. Barron Airport until his health begin to fail. He loved telling stories about flying planes for Barron Airport. He loved taking trips to the airport so he could reminisce about his days at the airport. He was a residence at Southland Nursing Home, and became an assistant for other residents and visitors. He was an active participant in other activities at the nursing home.

He was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, and frequently visited the Everlasting Non-Denominational Church with his niece. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilhemenia Woodard, and Earlene Vickers. He is survived by his daughter, Monica (Karl) Guyton of Dublin, grandson, Ladarius Barner of Union City, a caretaker and mothering niece, Lisa (James) Hodges, three stepsisters, and three stepbrothers, Milton (Peggy) Harmon of Atlanta, Reverend Michael (Donna) Harmon, and Roosevelt Harmon of Dublin, Debbie Brown of Fort Pierce, Florida, Linda (Kenneth) Griffin, and Gwen (Willie Watkins, both of Dublin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 721 Blackshear Ferry Road West in Dublin.
