Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Ethel Hardy Thomas of Cadwell, Georgia, will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 1 PM at the Living Hope Word Church, 101 Pearl Avenue, East Dublin. Pastor Belinda Faye Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Christian Church Cemetery, 2908 Fountain Road, Cadwell.

Mrs. Clara Thomas, a native of Laurens County, Cadwell, Georgia, was born on January 8, 1934, to the late Mr. Spencer Hardy and Mrs. Idessa Little. She was also preceded in death by a step-mother, Mrs. Olean Hardy, step-father, Mr. A. Bell Little, her siblings Mary Nell Charleston, Mary Bell Willis, Shirley Sleighman, Willie Lee Grant, and Hansel Hardy, and one son, Tommy Thomas. She passed away on June 26, 2017.

She attended the New Providence Baptist Church, and the New Providence Church School. She loved playing baseball cooking, sewing, and being a mother to her children, and later married Mr. Roosevelt Thomas, Sr.. Mrs. Thomas joined the Pine Hill Christian Church, and served faithfully, and was president of the Mission, Women's Treasurer, and food coordinator until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters, Para (Frank) Collins of Sparta, Janie Thomas, Peggy (W. L.) Brown, and Susie Ashley of Cadwell. Linda Pittman of Fayetteville, North Carolina, four sons, Roosevelt (Sherry) Thomas, Jr., of Hampton, Donald (Ada) Thomas of Avondale, Arizona, Danny (Laura) Thomas of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Ronald (Flossie) Thomas of Cochran, twenty-five grandchildren, and forty-three great grandchildren, her siblings, Frances (Thomas) Morgan, of Rentz, Dorothy Little of College Park, godsisters, Ira Lee Bass of Plainfield, Orlean Davis of Jacksonville, Florida, and Pearlie Mae Langston of Cadwell, brothers, Spencer (Susie) Hardy, Vincent Hardy of Detroit, Michigan, and Nathaniel Little of Dublin, sisters-in-law, Katie Fullwood of Dublin, Vera Grant of Hallandale, Florida, brother-in-law, George (Emily) Sleighman of Rentz, her aunts, Ethel Thomas of Plainfield, Annie Maude Thomas of Cochran, and Annie Maude Edmond of Rentz, godsons, Lee King and Darrren Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to her caregivers, Diana Wooten, Adophus Frank Collins, nurse and son-in-law, W. L. Brown, the late Barbara Robinson, Gail McLinton, Shirley Baker, Jerarline Dewberry, Three Rivers Home Health Care, Community Care, Macon Medical Center, Dodge County Hospital, Fairview Park Hospital, Coliseum Hospital of Macon, Eastman Dialysis, Davita Dialysis, Dublinair Nursing Staff, Golden Personal Care, LogistiCare, and Medix Transportation.

The family is receiving friends at 2863 Fountain Road, Cadwell.
