Funeral services for Deacon Zebbie Strange, of Toomsboro, will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the Jordan Stream Baptist Church, 17105 Georgia Highway 112 in Toomsboro. Reverend A. L. Gordon will officiate.

Deacon Strange was affectionately known as “Bubba was born on January 1, 1940 to the late Oscar and Arnetter Strange. . At an early age he joined the Jordan Stream Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon and usher until his health failed. He also served as a faithful member of the Moon Globe Gospel Singers alongside his brothers and cousins. He was employed by Englehard Corporation for 32 years. In April 1961, he was united in holy matrimony to the late Catherine Manson, who preceded him in death in November 1995. To this union one child was born. In January 2002, he later married the late Elnora Hone who also preceded him in death in November 2015. Deacon Strange passed on July 23, 2016. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Deacon Strange leaves to cherish his memory; four daughters, Cassandra Strange of Toomsboro, Sharon (Oscar) Basley of Irwinton, Ammerallus (James) Howell of Stockbridge, and Hazel (Keith) Hughes of Covington; one son, Gregory Shinholster of Irwinton; one daughter-in-law, Janice Horne of Irwinton; two brothers, Teroy (Jeanelle) Strange and Leroy (Laura) Strange of Toomsboro; three sisters, Martha (JW) Whipple of Toomsboro, Annie L. Whipple of Irwinton, and Mary Ann (Royce) of McIntrye; seven sisters-in-law, Inez Strange, Gloria Strange, Bertha (john) Carswell, Edie Mae Manson, Dommie (Obbie) Williams, Doris Davis and Cora Phelps; five brothers-in-law, Tal Manson, Elbert Shinholster, Samuel (Jackie) Shinholster, Eddie Lee Shinholster, and James Shinholster, four aunts; a special and devoted grandson, Zekory Lowe; a devoted caregiver, Kenneth Lowe, along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 101 Irwinton Road in Toomsboro.
