Funeral services for Mr. Virgil Walker, Sr., of East Dublin, will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Everlasting Gospel Non-Denominational Church at 1300 South Jefferson Street in Dublin. Reverend Alton Walker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin. Mr. Walker, who departed this life on December 7, 2012, was born May 10, 1928, in Laurens County, Georgia, to the late Bubba Walker and Sonnie Wright. He was preceded in death in by his wife, Francis Coney Walker; two brothers, Willie Walker, W.B. Walker; three sisters, Lizzie O'Neal, Susie Walker and Karen O'Neal. Mr. Walker is survived by his seven children, Lamar Walker, Valdosta, Geraldine Walker, Newark, NJ, Sally Mercer (Ricky Lee), Rosa Mae Walker, Virgil Walker, Jr. (Sarah), Larry (Linda) Walker, Roy Walker all of Dublin; sister, Susie Holmes and brother A.C. Walker both of Dublin, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 205 Broad Street East Dublin.
