SPARTANBURG -- Virgie Dover Johnson, 69, of 189 Mullins Road died Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blacksburg with Rev. Steve Hicks and Rev. Norman Philbeck officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 6 - 8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York, and other times at the home of daughter Jackie Dover, 1855 Sugar Hill Road, York, SC.
Virgie was a daughter of Arthur William Dover and Ellen McAfee Dover. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blacksburg.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Dover (James) of York, SC, Caren Keister (Andy Campbell) of Spartanburg, SC, Tinna Keister of Spartanburg, SC, sister Mary Carroll of Blacksburg, SC, brother Charlie Dover of Gaffney, SC, and six grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by her son Ronnie Keister and two sisters, Rosa Atkins and Bertie Laughlin.
