Funeral services for Mr. Taldon "Tal" Williams, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1 PM at the First African Baptist Church, 405 Telfair Street in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Williams, who passed on October 11, 2015, was born on July 8, 1970, to the late Jeannette W. Smith and Herbert Wheeler. At the young age of five, Mr. Williams was blessed with a wonderful and loving father whom he affectionately called "Daddy Gene". He was a 1988 graduate of the Dublin High School and furthered his educational endeavors as a football standout at Alabama State University.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Dublin and a dedicated employee at Plant Hatch Nuclear Plant in Baxley, Georgia. He was a drill sergeant with the Department of Juvenile Justice and worked faithfully with the Georgia Department of Corrections for many years. He dutifully served his county in battle as a proud member of the United States Army Reserve Unit 988 Desert Storm.

His high school sweetheart, Sharon, was the love of his life. He truly loved family game night, reading, fishing and hunting. As he was a devout sports enthusiast, the Florida Gators was his team of choice.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Lois Linder, an aunt, Sheryl Whitley and a by brother-in-law, Shelton Nichols.

Mr. Williams leaves precious memories to his devoted wife of twenty years, Sharon Linder-Williams of Dublin; son, Jare'l Williams, Dublin; daughters, J'Nai Williams, Dublin, Octavia O'Neal of Killeen, Texas and Keyuadia Tyus, Clanton, Alabama; one grandson, Kaysen Tyus, Clanton, Alabama; fathers, Eugene Smith, Sr. of Dublin and Herbert Wheeler of Glen Allen, Virginia; sisters, Taronda Smith, Dublin and Kimberly (Tony) Goodman, Woolwich, New Jersey; brothers, Terry (Linda) Williams, Dublin, Eugene (Crystal) Wheeler, Aldie, Virginia, Greg (Peggy) Smith, Augusta and Eugene (Ellen) Smith, Jr., Dublin; sisters-in-law, Monica Nichols, Dublin, Katrina (Ronnie) Hall, Savannah; brothers-in-law, Edwin May, Dublin, Calvin Jackson, Jacksonville, Florida; godchildren, Khadeidra Linder, Andra Linder II and Vaiden Kirkland. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 902 Gracewood Drive, Dublin.
