Sam Hawkins
YORK – Mr. Samuel “Sam” Hawkins, 88, passed away August 2, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare in Rock Hill.
Mr. Hawkins was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late Sylvanna Lee Hawkins and Mae Hawkins. Sam proudly served his country as a soldier during World War II. He was retired from the textile industry.
He is survived by his sister Jean Carter, brother Lewis Hawkins, sister-in-law Edna Hawkins, and his niece and caregiver, Shirley Carroll. Sam was preceded in death by his wife Esta Barry Hawkins, son Randy Hawkins, sisters, Teshia Jenkins, Edna Jenkins and his brother S.L. Hawkins Jr.
A graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Gaston Memorial Park.
