Funeral services for Mr. Sammie Lee Snell, Sr., of Macon, will be held on Saturday, June 20 2015, at 2 PM at the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Highway 19 South, in Dublin. Pastor Willie Arthur Snell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Snell was born on May 10, 1934, to the late Bubber Snell and Gladys (Conney) Snell. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy Snell, Rudolph (Fannie) Snell, Seymore (Ruby) Snell, Bubba (Della) Snell, and John (Lena) Snell; one sister, Iris (Riley) Bryant; and by one daughter, Tangela (Derrick) Saunders. He passed away on June 13, 2015.
Mr. Snell is survived by his wife, Ophelia Snell; children, Beowulf (Angela) Snell, Sr., Sammie Snell, Jr., Ralph Clayton and Betty Snell; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The procession will leave the Dudley Funeral Home at 1:15 PM on Saturday.
