Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Jones Blash, of Montrose, will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 11 AM at the Greater Union Grove Church of God In Christ, 4780 US Highway 80, Montrose. Apostle Vertise Rozier will officiate. Interment will follow in the Eason Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Blash was born on November 4, 1917, to the late Jennie Willis Jones and Ellic Jones. She departed this life on Sunday, February 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt; her sister, Essie Watkins. daughters, sons, grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She joined the Union Grove COGIC. She later joined Cathedral of Faith Family Praise under the leadership of Aposle Vertise Rozier. She served as the Senior Mother of the church until her passing. She retired from working at the Dudley Elementary School. Mrs. Blash was an Eastern Star for thirty-five years. She served on the Laurens County Sheriff Association Program.

Mrs. Blash is survived by one son, Ervin (Lucille) Blash of Montrose; four daughters, Nancy Clifton of Atlanta, Hattie Carswell of Dudley, Ruthie Mitchell of Dublin and Wylene Jones of Montrose; four granddaughters that she raised, Sandra Blash, Janice Blash, Montrose, Ruby Jean Thomas of Dublin and Lena (Cary) Smith of Dudleym and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 2524 Montrose-Allentown Road in Montrose and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, 6-7 PM.
