Funeral services for Mr. Nathaniel Ogburn, 90, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 1PM at Mount Tilla Baptist Church, 2424 Highway 441 North, Irwinton, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Mount Tilla Church Cemetery. Mr. Ogburn, who passed on April 8, 2012, was born on October 29, 1921, in Laurens County. He was born to the late, Edna Carswell Ogburn and the late Luther Ogburn. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Eldridge Ogburn and Russell Ogburn. He was a faithful member of the Mount Tilla Baptist Church for over sixty years where he actively served as an usher until his health declined. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. In 1949, he married Ms. Miriam Cummings Ogburn who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with one daughter, Lynn Renee Stuckey. He was employed by the City of Dublin and retired after forty years of service. Mr. Ogburn leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Lynn Renee (Wendell) Edwards, three grandchildren, Tiffany Edwards (Barry) Levine, Wendell Shawn(Luciana) Edwards, and Shequita (Ian) Blash, ten great grandchildren, Brianna Edwards, Barry Levine, II, Shawn Edwards, Jr., Shataya Blash, Kendahl Levine, Ianyana Blash, NyKia Rozier, Brittany Edwards, Xavier Blash and Joshua Levine, two brothers, Reverend (McIntyre) Blue, Blanton (Brunswick) Blue and two sisters, Edna Guyton and Moesther Heard both of Baltimore, Maryland.
