Funeral services for Ms. Laura Mae Snell will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 11 AM at the Second Baptist Church, 800 North Decatur Street, Dublin. Reverend Korie Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Ms. Laura Mae Snell, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Snell, was born on June 12, 1914 in in Lovett, Johnson County, Georgia. Ms. Snell is preceded in death by one sister and five brothers. Ms. Snell completed her academic education at Fort Valley State College, Hampton Institute and Tennessee State University. She was hard working all her life. She taught in the Laurens County School System, including, Oconee High School, and East Laurens High School, for over thirty-five years. It was her dedicated mission to teach children and help them succeed in life.

Ms. Snell was a life long member of the Second Baptist Church of Dublin. Ms. Snell was held in high esteem for her work in the church missionary society and her service as an usher. Sheds held membership in the Georgia Retired Teacher's Association, and was a former member of the Emerald Business and Professional Women's Society. She diligently supported financially her church, and a number of local and national charities.

After a lengthy illness, Ms. Snell made her transition from life to eternal life on Thursday, March 20, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Gwendolyn Snell, a niece, Dorothy Pertella, nephews, John R. Snell, Sr., John R. Snell, Jr., Charles Pertella, a cousin, Laverne C. Jones, and a host of other relatives, friends, and the Second Baptist Church family.

The family will receive friends at Dudley Funeral home on Monday, March 24, 2014, 6-7 PM.
