Funeral services for Deacon Jordan R. Moorman, 82, of Wrightsville, will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 863 James Grove Church Road, Wrightsville. Reverend Jerry Walden will officiate. Burial will follow in the Community Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Wrightsville.

Deacon Moorman was born October 26, 1931 to the late Eddie and Annie Hilson Moorman. He was called home on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He served honorably in the United States Army and fought for his country during the Korean War. He retired after thirty years of service with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Ethel Rawlings Moorman; a Daughter, Sharon King; Brothers, Horace, Tommy Lee, Grady, Lonzie, and Henry James Moorman; Sisters, Helen Harper and Alzola Henderson.

A devoted Husband and Father, he joined the James Grove Baptist Church serving faithfully as Chairman of the Deacon board for many years. He later joined the Community Missionary Baptist Church.

Deacon Moorman is survived by five children, Alvin (Ossie) Moorman and Sylvia (Brady) Jefferson of Wrightsville, Randy (Linda) Moorman and Chandra Thomas of Columbia, SC, Milton (Lisa) Moorman of Marietta; two sisters, Lola (Lewis) Watson of Atlanta, and Barbara (Alvin) Darrisaw of Wrightsville; five brothers, Hershel (Amery) Moorman of Fayetteville, Prince (Dorothy) Moorman of Stockbridge, John Moorman of New Jersey, Escar and Felton Pierce of Wrightsville; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the family residence, 270 James Grove Church Road, Wrightsville.
