Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie "Buddy Coates" Evans, Jr., of Dublin, will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 2 PM at the New Bethel AME Church, 1820 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin. Reverend Nathaniel Veal will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior for viewing.

Mr. Evans, who passed away on February 3, 2017 was born on August 5, 1947, in East Dublin, to the late Johnnie Evans, Sr., and Christine Evans. He was educated in the Laurens County Schools, was a member of the New Bethel AME Church, and a retired auto mechanic and roofer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Evans, three brothers, Walter Lee Evans, Jimmy Lee Evans, and Albert Evans, Sr.

Mr. Evans is survived by his children, Gregory (Cynthia) Evans of Macon, Jonathan (Tiffany) Evans of Waldo, Florida, eight stepchildren, nine siblings, Earnestine (George) Outland, Willie (Elaine) Evans, Georgia Bell Flanders, Michael (Felecia) Evans, Charlie (Jestine) Evans, and Ezekiel Demmons, all of Dublin, Gwen (Cuba) Edwards of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Lynn Evans and Shirley Evans of Pasadena, Maryland, a sister-in-law, Mamie Dardy Evans, devoted friends, Nathan Dardy, Juliette Mitchell, Sharon Edwards, all of Dublin, several grandchildren, one uncle, three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 882 Shamrock Court, Dublin.
