John Brown

Funeral Services for Mr. John Brown, Sr., 94, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1 PM at the Howard Chapel United Methodist Church, 508 South Washington Street, Dublin. Reverend Antonio R. Sutton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery, Dublin.

Mr. Brown Sr. was born, in a small town outside of Dublin, on May 7, 1921 to Elijah and Mary Brown. He passed away on December 7, 2015.

He attended the public schools. As a young man he led his family in a christian growth by joining the Howard Chapel United Methodist Church. He was employed by many and worked hard to provide for his family at Bassett Furniture and Pioneer Credit for over forty years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Magnolia Brown; son, John Brown, Jr.; grandson, Antonio Brown; granddaughter, Priscilla Rozier; great grandson, Emmanuel Jordan; and granddaughter, Shirley.

He leaves to mourn his son's loving heart, Gloria Brown; one son, John Brown II; grandson, John (Gina) Brown III; five granddaughters; forty-eight great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 322 Bradley Court, East Dublin, and at 1109 West Moore Street, Dublin.
