Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy F. Wilbur, 62, of Dublin will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 11:00AM at Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Highway 19 South in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Mount McRae Church Cemetery in Dublin. Reverend Roger Edwards will officiate. Mr. Wilbur who passed on August 25 was born June 7, 1950, to the late Willie C. Wilbur and Bessie P. Balcom Wilbur in Wheeler County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Rev. Willie E. Wilbur, Bobby Frank Wilbur and James L. Wilbur. He was a 1969 graduate of Mary Fleming High School. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army, was a Vietnam Veteran and retired after twenty eight years with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was employed at the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Center until his health declined. Mr. Wilbur was a member of Greater New Friendship Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board for many years. as well as a member of the GNFBC Male Choir. He joined Hatoff Lodge #409 in 1973, a member of the Royal Arch, Tri-County #8, and the Elbert Blocker Consistory #368. He served in the capacity of the past master of Hatoff Lodge. He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty six years, Barbara Wilbur; daughter, Kimberly C. Wilbur-Derriso; sons, Jamie F. Wilbur both of Dublin, Jeremy M. Smith of Morrow; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Eddie Kirby of Rex; brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Gail Wilbur of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Nikki Wilbur, Larry Wilbur both of Dublin; five grandchildren, Jaden, Jaron, and Jaxson Derriso, JaKerra Wilbur and Carmen Green all of Dublin; mother-in-law, Carolyn Jean Williams of East Dublin; in-laws, Laura Williams-Coleman and Michael and Christina Williams all of Columbus, John and Khaliah Williams and Wendell and Joye Scott all of Dublin and Clarence Williams, Jr. of Florida; sisters-in-law, Lucille Wilbur, Elizabeth Wilbur, Brenda Wilbur all of Dublin; devoted friends, Reginald and Geneva Rozier of Dublin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kadosh Ceremony will be given on Friday, August 31 at 6:00 PM at Dudley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the family residence, 902 Stewart Avenue in Dublin.
