Funeral Services for Mr. Jarvis Edward McCall, 52, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 2 PM at the Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 308 Rowe Street, Dublin. Reverend Leon Smith will officiate. Reverend E. Neal Dixon will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin.

Mr. McCall was born to the late Mr. Walter Edward McCall and Mrs. Arves Woods McCall. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2014.

At an early age, Mr. McCall accepted Christ and became a member of the Saint Paul A.M.E. Church. Most recently he was the president of the Sons of Allen, a member of the Trustee Board, the Gospel Choir, and the Senior Choir. Mr. McCall was a 1999 graduate of Leadership Laurens County. He also served on the Executive Board of Leadership Laurens County, was a volunteer for United Way and for the American Red Cross.

Mr. McCall was a 1979 graduate of Dublin High School and was a 1984 graduate of Georgia Southern College where he received a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He furthered his studies at the University of Utah in Ogden, Utah.

Mr. McCall was employed as an industrial engineer at Morton Thiokol in Ogden, Utah, which manufactured the O-ring for the NASA space shuttles; McDonnell Douglas in Macon; Northrup Grumman in Perry; Rockwell Automation in Dublin; Rheem in Milledgeville; and HMS Software.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. James Robert McCall, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Bell McCall, Dublin; his maternal grandparents, Mr. Roscoe Woods, LaGrange and Mrs. Lillian E. Woods, Dublin; and his father, Mr. Walter Edward McCall, Dublin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Mrs. Arves Woods McCall, Dublin; sisters, Monique McCall-Blue of Dublin, Bronwyn Hughes of Columbus; god-brother, Dru (Malva) Watson of Rentz; nieces, Victoria E. Washington of Dublin, and Devona Watson of Rentz; nephews, Kethen Hollings of Dublin, Kerry Blue of Columbus, and Thomas Watson of Rentz; great nieces, Journee and Jourdyn Washington both of Dublin; great nephew, Corey Washington of Dublin; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. McCall will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at 110 New Street, Dublin.
