Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Lee Butler, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016, at 11 AM at the Rice Hill Baptist Church, 2706 Moore Station Road in Dublin. Reverend Robert L. Wilder will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Janie Lee Butler was born in Dublin on October 8, 1925, to the late Ira Allen and the late Mary Lowery Allen. The Lord called her from laboring down here to her rest on January 21, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Butler, Sr.; son, Charles Lee Cain, and a brother, Johnnie Allen.

Mrs. Butler joined the Rice Hill Baptist Church at the age of nine years old and she was never led to leave her first church membership.

Mrs. Butler was lovingly known as “Ma” or “Grandma” to many. She loved to bake and cook. She almost always had some kind of cake on the table for visitors. She spent her healthy years caring for her family and friends. This trait carried over to her work as a nursing assistant in the nursing homes, the hospital and private homes.

Mrs. Butler leaves to cherish her precious memory three loving children, Johnnie (Beverly) Cain of Little Elm, Texas, Betty Jean (Rev. Robert L.) Wilder, Jr. of Dublin, Melvin Butler, Jr. of Dublin; three grandchildren,Tonya Rachelle Cain of Mesquite, Texas, Kimberly Nicole Cain of Little Elm, Texas, Keith LeShawn Walker of New Jersey; three great grandchildren, Brittanei Kiana Cain of Mesquite, Texas, Brandon Caleb Terry of Little Elm, Texas, Kyzie Walker of New Jersey; brother-in-law, George (Gloria) Baker of Dublin; sister-in-law, Larcia Ballard of Atlanta, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will also miss her presence on this earth.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Betty and Rev. Robert L. Wilber, Jr. at 100 Hamilton Street in Dublin and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Thursday, 6-7 PM
