Funeral services for Ms. Janice W. Stewart, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 2 PM at the Everlasting Gospel Non-Denominational Church, 1300 South Jefferson Street in Dublin. Pastor Robert Blue will officiate. Interment will follow in the Williams Chapel Mission Cemetery.

Ms. Stewart, who passed on January 14, 2016, was born on February 20, 1956, in Laurens County to the late Ike and Emma Lou Blassingame Williams. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Stewart; two brothers, Fred and Robert Williams; five sisters, Nora Mae Allen, Roberta Mitchell, Mary Dell Williams, Pastor Geneva Blue and Alberta Williams; and a good friend, Annie Burley.

Missionary Stewart attended Oconee High School. She received her Licensed Practical Nursing certification from Swainsboro Tech. She has been employed at the Carl Vinson Medical Center for over thirty years where she served as president of the Local AFGE 1985 Dublin. She also worked at Fairview Park Hospital and at several nursing homes. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a member of the NAACP.

She was an active member of the Victory Temple Overcoming Church of God in Dublin under the leadership of Elder Rover Blue. She enjoyed leading devotion service. She had a sweet spirit and enjoyed talking and meeting new people and was a very outgoing person who really loved the Lord. To know her was to love her.

Missionary Stewart’s surviving relatives include her five children, Curtis Williams of Florida, Vanessa Stewart, Yolanda Stewart, Nikita Stewart and Micheal Stewart, all of Dublin; her significant other, Raymond Mitchell of Columbia, South Carolina; three brothers, Tommy Williams, Albert Williams, Clarence (Elnora) Williams; two sisters, Annie Pearl (Samuel) Holliman and Betty (Joe) Keaton of Orlando, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Robert Blue and Joseph Bill Mitchell, both of Dublin; aunts and uncles, Nora L. Davis and Mammie L. Todd both of Dublin, Doris Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Fred and Lucille Williams and Lessie Williams all of Miami, Florida, Hattie Williams of Brunswick, Jimmie L. Taylor and Martha Williams both of Dublin; two devoted friends, Cora Blue and Cynthia Brown; fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 107 Clover Street in East Dublin.
