Hughis Edmond

Funeral services for Mr. Hughis Edmond, of East Dublin, Georgia, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, 828 Scotland Road in Dublin. Dr. Frederick C. Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in the Moore Station Cemetery.

Mr. Hughis Edmond was born February 10, 1946, in Laurens County to the late Mr. Oliver and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Edmond. He departed this life on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at a local hospital.

Mr. Hugis Edmond worked at J. P. Stevens and Forstmann Industries for over 40 years. He worked at Southern Family Market for approximately 10 years. He attended Mary Fleming High School. He united in marriage with Mrs. Mary Edwards Edmond on July 17, 1967. Mr. Edmond was a member of Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Usher Board and sang in the male choir faithful.

Mr. Edmond was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Johnnie Mae Edmond, one sister Carolyn E. Wright, one brother Oliver L. Edmond, grandparents John and Alberta Jordon, grandparents River and Flossie Edmond.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mary Edmond, three sons, Gerald (Tracey) Edmond, Shon Edmond, Katorris Edmond, all of Dublin, Georgia. six grandchildren: Kyshon, Juwon, India, Nija, Alexis, and Gaberiel Edmond, all of Dublin; one brother, William H. Edmond, four sisters: Addie Marie Jackson of Atlanta, Annie Faye (Authur) Anderson of Youngtown Ohio; Shirley Baker and Christine Edmond of Rentz; sister-in-laws, Gladys Edwards of Dublin; Izilla Reynolds of Augusta, Nina Pyatt and Evelyn Edwards of Rochester, New York; brother-in-law Thomas and Gerturde Edwards, Abram Edwards; Willie Edwards, Harry Edwards, all of Dublin. Joe T. and Charlene Edwards of Atlanta; aunts; Flora Carswell of Dudley, Jennie A. Edmond of Miami, Florida, Hattie Coley of Rochester, New York, Nettie Williams of Opalocka, Florida, uncles, Willie B. McKissick of Germantown, New York; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 938 Brewton-Lovett Road in East Dublin.
