Henry Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Henry Oliver Jones, of Dublin, will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the Bibleway Church Of God In Christ, 212 Wabash Street in Dublin. Bishop T.L. Snell, Sr. will be officiating.

Mr. Jones, who passed on May 10, 2016, was born on September 23, 1945, to the late J. C. Jones and Sarah Mae Lowder Jones. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Lowder.

Mr. Jones worked earlier in life as a truck driver for various companies. He served as a Deacon for many church throughout his life. Later in life he made Bibleway Church Of God In Christ his church home where he served faithfully. He sang in several gospel groups including the The Gospel Soul Searchers out of Macon and the Spiritual New Comers out of Dublin.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of forty years, Genell Jones; two sons, James Steven Jones, Macon, Maurice Maynard, Decatur; one daughter, Cortina Lester, Macon; five grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Maurice Oglesby, Sierra Kelly, Aaliyah Jones, Steven Jones, Jr. all of Macon; stepchildren, Carol Fran Carter, Dione M. Bowder, Henry Carter, Brice Carter, Richard Carter, Brandon Carter all of Dublin; god children, Joel Howard, Dublin; sister-in-law, Margie (Bennie) Blue; devoted uncle, Louis (Emma) Lowder, Hinesville and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 320 Wabash Street in Dublin.
