Funeral services for Mr. Henry E. Hodges, Sr., of Wrightsville, will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 12 PM at the Community Missionary Baptist Church, 627 James Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Bishop Phillips will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Brantley Chapel Church Cemetery.

Mr. Henry E. Hodges, Sr., was born in Johnson County on May 30, 1943, to the late Horace and Willie Pearl Hodges. He was a member of Brantley Chapel Church. He attended Johnson County schools. He was self-employed and he also worked for the Johnson County Board of Education. He enjoyed telling jokes and shooting pool and enjoying his family. He departed this life on April 26, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Marcie L. Hodges. He is survived by his children, Betty S. Hodges (Leron Jenkins), Vickie Arline, Julia P. (Shannon) Wadley, Alicia Edreia (Phillip) Whitley, Reneda (Frank) Hodges, Henry E. Hodges, Jr., Benny (Shelby) Hodges, godson, Shayne Taylor, a very loving and devoted companion, Doretha Wright, siblings, Wayne (Shirley) Hodges, Benjamin (Tywanna) Hodges, Larry Hodges, Lesa (Ricky) Poole, devoted friends, Betty Hodges, Gloria Wright, Anthony (Bumb) Brantley, and Orenthal (O.J.) Arline, uncle, Willie E. Reese, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, devoted cousin, Shela Hannah and a devoted nephew, Donald Hannah, twenty-nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family is receiving friends at 2455 Idylwild Drive in Wrightsville.
