Guy Smith

Funeral services for Mr. Guy B. Smith, Sr., of Beaufort County, South Carolina, will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 11 AM at the Saint Luke Baptist Church, 620 East Main Street in Dexter. Reverend William Nesbitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Smith, who passed on January 23, 2016, was born on July 9, 1930, to the late Henry and Pearl Smith. He joined the Mount Tilla Baptist Church at an early age. Mr. Smith was joined in holy matrimony to Doris M. Pittman He later moved his membership to the Saint Luke Baptist Church.

He was a retired well driller. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Smith, six brothers and six sisters.

Mr. Smith leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, Sheila (Larry) Perry of Beaufort, South Carolina; two sons, Joseph (Edith) Smith of Rentz and Guy (Amy) Smith of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; two sisters, Lillie Guyton of Dexter, Corraine Gervin of Camilla; one brother, John R. (Margaret) Smith of Dudley; five grandchildren, Marica Smith of Dexter, Ron Smith and Eric D. (Shuvella) McCloud of Dublin, Anthony Brown of Sumpter, South Carolina, and Calvin McCloud, Jr., of Beaufort, South Carolina, fourteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 923 Railroad Avenue in Dexter.
