Funeral services for Ms. Georgia Mae Cordy will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Greater New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3625 GA Highway 19 South, Dublin. Interment will follow in Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Reginald R. Cordy, Sr. will officiate.


Ms. Cordy, who passed on June 13, was born on July 2, 1949, to the late O.C. and Lavada O'Neal Wright in Wheeler County. She was educated in Laurens County, and she retired from Allen-Bradley Industries after 25 years of faithful service. At an early age she joined she joined Zion Hope Church of God In Christ. She later moved her membership to Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, Georgia, under the leadership of her son, Pastor Reginald R. Cordy, Sr.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Zora Mae Kellam, Lavern Parker; one brother, James Wright.

Mrs. Cordy leaves behind fond memories to her children, Wanda (Lonzie) Ashley, Jada Wright-Coney, Walter Wright, Anthony (Maz) Martin, Tonya (Harrison, Jr.) Jones, Shelia Martin and Pastor Reginald R. (Michelle) Cordy, Sr. all of Dublin; a niece whom she raised, Gail (Edward) Kellam-Davis of Dublin; siblings, Alzada Floyd of Dublin, Louise Felton Calhoun, Robert (Sue) Wright, Eugene (Dale) Wright and Frank Wright all of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Wright of Atlanta; maternal uncle, Reverend Ernest O'Neal of Birmingham, Alabama; paternal aunt, Eula Mae Linder of Dublin; grandson whom she raised, Christopher Wright of Denver, Colorado, nineteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a special and devoted friend, Willie Wilcher of East Dublin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the family residence, 228 Cascade Circle, Dublin.
