Funeral services for Mrs. Florabelle Cadwell Steppes of Snellville will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 12:00 PM at the New Providence Baptist Church, 3127 Fountain Road in Cadwell. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Florabelle Steppes who passed away on December 15, 2012, after a lengthy illness, was born in Laurens County on April 10, 1935. She graduated from Washington High School in Dublin, and later moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met and married Lennon Steppes. The Steppes' both enjoyed a 40-year career at Ford Motor Company and after retirement, moved to Warren, Arkansas. After 48 years of marriage, Lennon preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Steppes moved to Snellville in 2010 as her health began to fail. Mrs. Steppes is survived by her son, Lennon D. (Maria) Steppes of Snellville; a brother, Edsel (Emma) Cadwell of Inkster, Michigan; a sister, Isabelle Jackson of Livonia, Michigan; a granddaughter, Jordan, four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
