Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Dean Thomas of Dexter, will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 11 AM at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 2130 Georgia Highway 338 in Dexter. Reverend David Turner will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr Eugene Dean Thomas was born on May 18, 1947, in Dexter, Georgia to the late Eddie "Bicycle" Thomas and Josephine Thomas. He attended Millville High School in Dudley, Georgia. He started working on a farm and later in life he was employed as a counselor at the Carl Vinson Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Thomas, Frankie Lee Thomas, Wilbert Thomas, aunts and uncles, Johnny B. McNear, Herschel McNear, Albert McNear, Laroy McNear, Emma McRae, Alma London, Annie Ruth Hicks, Callie M. Mills, Grady McNear, and Willie Mae McNear. He passed away on December 28, 2019.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Charlotte Roberson of Warner Robins, and Precious Tidwell of Dublin, his grandchildren, Xavier Harvard of East Dublin, Charletta Harvard, Reginald Roberson, Broderick Roberson, all of Warner Robins, Ja'Laya Curry, Rontrevis Tidwell, Ja'Cara Tidwelll, all of Dublin, siblings, Johnny B. Thomas of Dexter, Veta Mae Rozier and Denise Thomas of Dublin, Jessie (Ernest) Blue of Rentz, special friends, Billy (Tula) Fuqua, Thomas Pittman, Izell (Barbara) Jones, and Ray (Willie Mae) Vickers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great grands, other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at 321 Malone Trailer Park in Dexter.
