Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Turner, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 12 PM at the Springfield Baptist Church, 256 Carolina Street, Chester. Pastor David Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Burch Cemetery in Chester.

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Turner was born on April 6, 1938 in Chester, to the late Anthony (W. A.) and Susie Mae Meredith. She was married to the late Andrew James Turner Sr., and was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. She was a quiet soul, who was a loving and kind homemaker, and cherished the moments with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, Mrs. Turner received her notice from her heavenly father bidding her to come home. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jazmine R. Davis, a sister, Bernice Gayles, and two brother-in-laws, Doctor Felix Ponder Jr., and Preston Gayles Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Sharon (George) Clark of Hampton, and Glenda Turner of Portsmouth, Virginia, two sons, Andrew (Andre) Turner Jr., of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Gregory (Angela) Turner of Portsmouth, Virginia, eleven grandchildren, Gregory Turner II, Sheniqua Turner, Brenton Gibson, Karl Washington, Terrence Clark, Kiana Clark, Marqis Turner, Rapheal Harvard, and Cory Taylor, five great grandchildren, Kayden Washington, Treyshon Washington, Harmonie Woodley, Daylan Redd and Denver, one brother, Ulyssee Meredith, one sister, Mevelene M. Ponder, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 5-6 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home.
