Funeral services for Mrs. Doretha Alvin, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 1 PM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Reverend Kendrick Mack will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Alvin, who passed on May 9, 2015, was born on May 8, 1918, to the late Tom and Winnie Norris. She was a cook for several years at the Claxton Hospital and at Dublinair Nursing Home. She enjoyed fishing.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Linton and Talmadge Alvin. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Norris and John Wesley Norris; one sister, Willie Belle Nesbitt; one nephew, Joe Nesbitt; and two great grandchildren, Gabrielle and JaMondus Tyler.

Mrs. Alvin is survived by three children, Gloria (Frankie) McClendon, Brady Linton and Donald Linton; niece, Eunice Jean Bell; nephew, John Norris; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; devoted godson, Robert Mobley; cousins and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 510 Georgia Street in Dublin.
