Deborah Gordon

Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Phillips Gordon, of East Dublin, will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 10:30 AM at the Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 304 Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive in Vidalia, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Eternal Glory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Gordon, who passed on August 1, 2015, was born on October 21, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, as the youngest daughter of James and Oretha Phillips. Mrs. Gordon's passion for helping others inspired her successful career as a respiratory therapist. She earned a great reputation at both Brooklyn Jewish Hospital and Victory Memorial Hospital in New York. In 2000, she relocated to Vidalia, Georgia, where she reconnected with her extended family.

By faith and wisdom, Mrs. Gordon built her first home in Dublin, Georgia. After Deacon Bobby Gordon and Deaconess Deborah Phillips Gordon established their marriage on solid ground, she sought after her financial independence, and successfully launched The Gordon & Chase Extreme Hauling Company, which was inspired by the name and memory of her loving nephew Tabari “Chase” Culpepper.

Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her father, James Phillips; her niece, Tyrah Williams; and by her nephew, Tabari Culpepper.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Gordon; mother, Oretha Phillips; sisters, Helen Phillips, Elaine Williams, Sandra Charles, and Joyce Culpepper; nieces, Donielle, Nataki, Tisha, Maia, Rasheda, Alana, Kiya, Janaya, Anaya; nephews, Miles, Noel, Sir Richard, Isaiah; sisters-in-law, Rosetta Tarver, Christine Gordon, Shirley Harvey; brothers-in-law, Benny Gordon, J. C. Gordon, Ben Godon, Jr., and Kerry Gordon, and host of cousins. Very special thanks to Mrs. Gordon's Health Care Provider, Theresa DeVoe, for her committed services.

The family will receive friends at 1097 Highway 199 South in East Dublin.
