Funeral services for Mr. Danny Coney, 57, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 1 PM at the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Highway 19 South, Dublin. Interment will follow at Mount McCrae Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12 PM until the funeral hour at the church.

Mr. Coney was born on August 7, 1958, to the late Mr. Tommie and Eunice Coney. As a much-loved father, grandfather, son and brother, he passed away peacefully at Serenity Hospice on August 21, 2015, with his family and friends present. He had bravely confronted and fought a spinal cord injury that left him a quadriplegic.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Coney, Maxie Coney, and Tommie Lee Coney, Jr., and by his sisters, Grace Sewell, Juanita Coney, and Mae Evelyn Davis.

Mr. Coney is survived by his son, Daniel R. Coney of Dublin; grandson, Damone Coney of Dublin; granddaughter, Tavaeha Coney of Dublin; brothers Bennie Earl Coney of Eastman, and Bonnie Coney and Ronnie Coney of Dublin; sisters, Eddie Mae Ellington, Hellen Pittman, Dorothy (Billy) Boston, Amigene Wright, Sheila (Wayne) Hines, Brenda (Tony) Chain, and Shirley Coney of Dublin, Valene Coney of Hempstead, New York and Jacklyn (Alex) Coney-Davis of Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nephews, great nieces and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 215 West Drive in Dublin.
