Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Elaine Nelson of 429 Ray Street, Dublin, will be held on Sunday, November 18, at 2:30 PM at the First African Baptist Church, 405 Telfair Street in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin. Reverend Henry Davis will officiate. Mrs. Nelson, who passed on November 14, was born January 14, 1951, to the late Annie Mae Manson Hill and Clarence Hill of Montrose. At an early age, she joined Mount Cilla Spings Baptist Church and later joined Woodard Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and most recently served on the Ushers Board until her health failed. She was a 1969 graduate of Calhoun High School in Irwinton, Georgia. She was employed by Biljo and Shamrock. She was joined in holy matrimony to Freddie Nelson and to this union two handsome sons, Manguel and Maurice, were born. Manguel preceded her in death. She was blessed with an anointed voice to sing praises to God. Her voice ministered to many hearts and souls. In addition to Manguel, she was peceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Nelson leaves to cherish her precious memories her dedicated and devoted husband, Freddie Nelson of 41 years; her devoted and loving son, Maurice Nelson of Marietta; two sisters, Lanier (Benjamin) Strange of Toomsboro and Bessie Anderson of Rentz; four brothers, Johnny (Carolyn) Hill of Irwinton, GA, Willie (Mattie) Hill, Albany, Jeff (Arnetta) Hill, Miami, Florida, Charles (Christine) Stuckey of Montrose; sisters-in-law, Mary Chappell of Rentz, Moldrea (Terry) Bell, Barbara Minniefield, Bablin Mims and Geneva (Reginald) Rozier all of Dublin; brothers-in-law, Willard Gidney of Youngstown, Ohio, Robert (Bernice) Nelson of East Dublin, Roy(Mary) Nelson of Dublin, Sammie Nelson of Douglasville, Nathaniel (Jackie) Nelson of Dudley and Craig (Rhonda) Nelson of Douglasville; special niece, Barbara (Vernon) Gilbert of Youngstown, Ohio and special friends, Ina R. Cooper and Belinda V. Fullwood, both of Dublin, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the family residence, 429 Ray Street in Dublin.
