Funeral services for Ms. Cheryl Denise Ashley of Detroit, Michigan, will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Sandy Ford Baptist Church, 2614 US Highway 80 West in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Daryl Moore will officiate.

Ms. Ashley, who passed on Thursday September 4, 2014, at the Saint John Hospital in Detoit, Michigan, was born on February 23, 1967, to the union of Marshall and Barbara Ashley in Dublin. “Nise”, as she was affectionately called, was the third of five children. Her brother, Marshall (Pokey) Ashley, Jr,. preceded her in death. She accepted and gave her life to Christ at an early age and was educated in the Laurens County Public School System.

Ms. Ashley relocated to Detroit, Michigan, in 1998 where she spent the latter part of her life. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, companion, and a dear friend. She had a deep love for family, and enjoyed fishing, singing and was a great dancer.

Ms. Ashely leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, Quentin (Trez), Monica Denise, Brianna, Britney and Deandre, her father Marshall Ashley Sr., mother, Barbara Ashley, her sisters, Carolyn and Daphne, her brother, Kelvin, and half-brother, Micheal, four nieces, six nephews, three great-nieces, three great-nephews, a loving companion Keith, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2014, 6-7 PM.
