Charlie Knight

Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Knight, Jr., of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 1 PM at the Howard Chapel United Methodist Church, 508 South Washington Street, Dublin. Pastor Antonio Sutton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Knight, who passed on April 28, 2015, was born on March 2, 1927, to the late Charlie Knight, Sr., and Annie Fordham of Dublin.

Mr. Knight married Hazel Vickers and they raised six children. He was a member of the Howard Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Knight was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Lee McGee, by a niece, Annie Kaye Stafford, and by his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Vickers.

He is survived by a devoted wife, Hazel Knight, Dublin; three sons, Lewis (Betty) Lattimore, Tracy Lattimore, both of Detroit, Michigan, Charlie (Lisa) Knight, III, Jesup; three daughters, Sherunda (Craig) Dixon, Amy (Kenny) Charles and Sherrie Jackson, all of Dublin; a special family friend, Jannice Hunt, Dublin; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other devoted, and loving cousins, relatives and friends.


The family will receive friends at 410 Hudson Street in Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, 6-7 PM.
