Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Davis Fleming of 2291 Idylwild Drive, Wrightsville, will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10 AM at the Pine Grove A.M.E. Church, 588 Donovan Road in Wrightsville. Reverend William T. Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove AME Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Fleming was born in Wrightsville on July 14, 1931, to the late Leon Davis, Sr., and Lizzie Bell Wilkins Davis. She attended the Dock Kemp School, and received her early christian experience at the Pine Grove A.M.E. Church where she was a member for many years. In 1969, she moved to Fort Pierce, FL. In 1970, she became a member of the Apostle Faith Church of Jesus under the pastorate of Elder Isaac Miller, Sr. Mrs. Fleming returned to Wrightsville in 2006 and rejoined her home church, Pine Grove A.M.E, and served until her departure from earth to glory.

On Sunday, April 14, 2013, at a Dublin hospital, Mrs. Fleming went home to be with the Lord, and reunite with her parents, daughter, Londia Davis, and her siblings, Leon Jr., John Willie, Nellie, Eufola, and Mary Nell. She leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Freddie Spikes of Meriden, CT, Wallace Davis, Sr., Larry (Veronica) Davis and Ray Davis, all of Fort Pierce, FL., Prince (Sharon) Davis of West Haven, CT; daughters, Ruby(Lamar) Wesley of Wrightsville, Wanda (Ray) King of Fort Pierce, FL., Linda Davis of Atlanta, and Diana Davis of Meriden, CT,; twenty-six grandchildren, one of whom she raised, Nicole Davis, twenty-six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brothers, Tommy (Shirley)Davis, Felton Davis, and Escar Pierce of Wrightsville; sisters, Runnette Taylor, Lela Norris of Baltimore, MD, Barbara (Alvin) Darrisaw of Wrightsville, sister-in-law, Lillie Pearl Davis of Fort Pierce, FL; aunts; Mary Dell Murray of Baltimore, MD, Annie Grace Pierce of Miami, FL, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that will miss her dearly.

Mrs. Fleming will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. The family will be receive friends at 2291 Idylwild Drive in Wrightsville.
