Funeral service for 69 year old Mr. Alfred Cleveland Tennell of Los Angeles CA formerly of Clarksville, Texas who passed away July 27, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015 @ 1:00 p.m at Citizens Funeral Home Chapel, 500 East Church, Clarksville, Texas with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Interment in Haywood Cemetery, Clarksville, Texas.

Alfred Cleveland Tennell affectionately known as “AC” was born to the parentage of John Henry Tennell and Gracie Berry Tennell in Clarksville, TX.
He married Juanita Louise Swar on April 3, 1970, in Portland, and to that union Cleveland Andre Tennell, his only child, was born on September 25, 1971. AC worked at the Pacific Meat Company from 1960 to 1975. In 1970, he opened his own meat market “Aces Meats” where he and Juanita sold premium meats.
He became good friends with the Lampkin and Frisan families in Portland and they considered him family. AC was very good friends with Ray “Lightening” Lampkin who was a prize fighter, Olympic contender and later fought for the Lightweight boxing title in 1975. Their bond was so close that AC chose him as Andre’s Godfather.
AC was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings – Terry Tennell, Dorothy Ellis, John Henry Tennell, Jr. Donald Wayne Tennell and Ethel Raye Tennell. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Cleveland Andre Tennell, two granddaughters, Emoni Tennell and Semaj Tennell, two sisters, Mary Hurd and Joyce Richards both of Dallas, TX, three brothers Garland Tennell, of Los Angeles, CA, Jerry Tennell and Gerry Tennell both of Dallas, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives who will miss him dearly.
